There is a ton of places online where you can find business ideas and inspiration. So, why another one?

We would like to give this business of thinking about business our own take, and we think we may have an angle with new secret ingredient: you.

We visit many outlets of ideas; Entrepreneur.com has a wealth of two decades of good content and Springwise’s trendspotter network always has some new goodies to share: we love them. We also check out industry-specific websites, niche forums and else. If you are anything like us, you know that coming up with new business ideas can become an addiction, a good one we’d like to think.

We recognize that the “new” in business is mostly a “different” than a “whole other”. Someone comes up with a better way of responding to a need, another fixes some wrong she finds in a product, yet another complements a service with another for improved satisfaction. That means, there are many more variables at play than the constants. We would like to fuel the discussion that may hopefully bring out those connections and let you reconnect the dots in other ways.

We think that, for all their awesomeness in “presented” content, most other websites have yet to motivate creative thinking on the spot. A brilliant idea that is followed by a comment from Sao Paulo that says “good idea, thanks” just saddens us. We will try and extend the breadth of the discussion. Designer electric-bicycles are high in demand? Great. So, who are those demanding them, how old are they, where are they from? What would be a way to focus marketing of these specifically to women? Would renting these be feasible? Has anyone seen such a think in their neighborhood? What do they charge?

Any one business idea is an opportunity to analyze a set of problems, needs, markets, trends, players, current products and many more. In playing with details, we can hopefully strike some magical connections in our minds.

Then of course, there are tried and proved ways of doing business for the less-adventurous (ok, true, franchising is also a battle). Knowing the franchisor should help, meeting other owners too. We’ll try to bring the parties to the discussion. (Do help us spread the word.)

We are new in town, so much of the above have time to materialize. But we do have a plan and we are committed. Join up and be a part of it; bookmark us, subscribe to our feed or follow us on twitter to stay up to date as our plan unfolds. And please don’t spare any input.
